The Goatsucker

Livestock plays in essential role in the lives of thousands if not millions. actually it plays a role in all of our lives! When that livestock is threatened, logically people panic. Especially today, food shortages are rampant in smaller less developed countries and a single cow or goat could mean life or death.

What happened in Puerto Rico in 1995 was strange. A farmer woke up one morning to find eight sheep discovered dead in pasture. There was no carnage, no gore and no sign of a struggle. The sheep were dead that much was obvious but what was found on their necks and chests still baffles people today. Three puncture wounds were found on every sheep that was murdered. These three puncture wounds led to the discovery of those eight sheep being completely drained of blood. There was not a drop to be found in the crime scene.

A few months later, reports begin to file in from the Puerto Rican town of Canóvanas and the surrounding area. More than 150 farm animals and pets were reported to have been murdered in the same fashion.

What is strange is that this happened before in the town of Moca. The local population begin calling this mystery monster El Vampiro De Moca or The Vampire Of Moca.

originally thought to be a satanic cult, The popular theory Turned to another suspect.

The appearance of this being his reptile like. With spines running down its back, leathery green skin, and unusually pronounced eyesockets it is hard to disagree. Like most predators it has fangs and claws but unlike most predators it leeches the blood of its victim through three holes in the shape of a downward pointing triangle. Now, let's will talk about the chupacabra, which is Spanish for "Goatsucker".

Originally reported in Puerto Rico, reports of the chupacabra now stretch far as Maine and even as far as Russia. In 2018 reports were coming in from India, same motive, same crime scene.

Along it's bloodsucking path, cities and towns have different explanations and names for. New Orleans believes it to be some kind of swamp monster where in New Mexico and the Southwest, some believe it to be an alien life form that crashed here.

In the early 2000's, some reports came in which describe the chupacabra as a little less alien. In these reports, it was described as a hairless dog. Nearly every species of canine can suffer from a disease called mange. Mange is a skin disease caused by parasitic mites. These mites cause severe itching hair loss and the formation of lesions. add this disease with wild or loose animals, usually those either left behind by the pack or abandoned, and you get a horrific image. The chupacabra is sometimes reported as A thin little boney creature. it is hard not to see a connection.

The chupacabra is the third best known monster in the world after big foot and the Lock Ness Monster and it's right up there with Dracula. It has terrorized small villages to the point of fearful mobs armed with machetes to machine guns taking to the streets to hunt the creature. Whether it be of this world or another, we still do not know. Many Canines with mange have been captured or shot and have been presented as the chupacabra but more reports come in.

What we must remember is that every life matters. Man's best friend can suffer so easily and we must do our part to protect them and keep them from harm. If you see a rabid animal or an animal that looks sick, please call your local police station or animal control. also remember that there are Better options than abandoning your pet. please, if you do not want your pet anymore, do not release it into the wild. There are organizations nationwide that help pets find new and better homes.
